News - Event "Insights into Thailand's Solar PV Market"

September 12, 2025

Thailand’s solar sector is entering a critical phase. While regulatory frameworks are gradually opening the door to corporate procurement and utility-scale development, turning potential into projects will require alignment across policy, technology, and partnerships.

Last week, our colleague Khomson Khenyotha, Thailand Managing Director and Regional New Business Development at Peak Energy joined a panel at the Tonking New Energy Roadshow in Bangkok, discussing what it will take to deliver scalable and competitive solar infrastructure in Thailand.

Key discussion points included:

  • Policy direction and market development: Where Thailand’s solar roadmap is heading over the next 5–10 years, and how investors and developers should read the signals.
  • RE regulation and project bankability: What’s required to enable more predictable, transparent pathways for renewable energy sourcing — including implications for corporate offtakers.
  • Engineering levers to reduce LCOE: How mounting systems and other technical decisions can meaningfully impact project economics, especially in price-sensitive environments.

Across the discussion, one insight emerged clearly:

The next wave of projects will be shaped not just by regulation or hardware — but by the quality of partnerships across international developers, local stakeholders, and solution providers.

Peak Energy remains committed to working across markets like Thailand to bring together execution certainty, local understanding, and long-term project value.

Thanks again to TK New Energy for the opportunity to contribute to this timely dialogue.
